Upper Abdominal Scan

Objective of Scan:

  • A detailed investigation to look at the size, character and shape of kidneys, liver, gall bladder, spleen, biliary system and pancreas.
Inclusive of:

  • Detailed report and images
  • 30 minute appointment
Price: £120   inclusive of the £30 deposit paid at the time of booking.
Further Information:

The scan is available to patients over the age of 16 years of age.

You will be required to fast for at least 6 hours prior to your scan and only clear fluids are allowed.

Please drink at least one litre of water before your scan as a full bladder is required.

Please note that it is your responsibility to forward your report/findings to your GP/Healthcare.

All scans are performed by qualified Sonographers with diagnostic general ultrasound scanning experience.

FAQs

What do I need to wear for the scan?

We advise that you wear something light, airy and baggy. Otherwise you may need to change into a gown if necessary.

Can I drink or eat before my scan appointment?

You will be required to fast for at least 6 hours prior to your scan and only clear fluids are allowed. Please drink at least one litre of water before your scan as a full bladder is required.

Who will perform the scan?

All of our sonographers are qualified with diagnostic  general ultrasound scanning experience, and are accredited by either the Health Professional Council,  The General Medical Council, or Society of Radiographers and work within the NHS alongside their role with My Ultra Healthcare Ltd.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring your along your hospital notes (if you have been given them) and reports to assist our Sonographers if a referral is required.

Will you advise me of any abnormalities?

Please note, our scans do not replace any of your NHS scans. During your appointment in an event of any medical referral is required, we will discuss this with you and provide a full report for to forward to your health practitioner.

Do I still need to visit the NHS if I had a scan with you?

Yes, our services are a complementary service, which works alongside the NHS.

What happens in terms of referrals?

We advise all our customers to advise their GP/Healthcare Provider know of their intention to have a scan with us. On arrival at My Ultra Healthcare we will ask you to complete a registration form, where your GP/healthcare provider  details will be requested. If from the scan there shows a need to contact or share any information regarding your scan, you are responsible for providing the report to your GP/Healthcare Provider.
